Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Top ranked Verdirrojo (13-4) recorded its fourth loss in Montevideo on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked Lagomar (9-8) 106-90. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Verdirrojo. They outrebounded Verdirrojo 37-25 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Cape Verdean Victor Andrade (202-2000) who scored 31 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). American point guard Jamal Hartwell II (180-1999, college: UC Riverside) chipped in 28 points. Lagomar's coach Esteban Yaquinta used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Federico Haller (200-1988) produced 20 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Lagomar maintains sixth place with 9-8 record. Verdirrojo at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: Olimpia (#3) and Atenas (#4). Olimpia (11-6) crushed visiting Atenas (11-6) by 26 points 105-79. American forward Dwayne Russell (203-1998, college: St.Thomas, FL) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds. Agustin Mendez contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. Facundo Medina (190-1994) answered with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for Atenas. Olimpia have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain third place with 11-6 record having just three point less than leader Verdirrojo, which they share with defeated Atenas.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: Stockolmo (#11) and Capitol (#13). Capitol was defeated at home 60-68 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Lucio Castellani stepped up and scored 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Claudio Bascou responded with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Stockolmo (8-10) moved-up to tenth place. Capitol lost their seventh game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost.

In the last game of round 5 Tabare defeated Yale in a road game 67-60.



Capitol - Stockolmo 60-68

Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: Stockolmo (#11) and Capitol (#13). Capitol was defeated at home 60-68 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Argentinian forward Lucio Castellani (196-1994) stepped up and scored 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and point guard Emiliano Bonet (186-2001) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Claudio Bascou (185-1989) responded with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Guyanese-American center Anthony Moe (207-1990, college: Millersville) scored 9 points and 12 rebounds. Stockolmo (8-10) moved-up to tenth place. Capitol lost their seventh game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost.

Yale - Tabare 60-67

There was no surprise in Montevideo where 12th ranked Yale (4-12) was defeated by tenth ranked Tabare (7-9) 67-60 on Monday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tabare made 8 blocks. American power forward Kwame Alexander (200-1990, college: CSUSB, agency: BIG) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 17 rebounds and 6 blocks for the winners and guard Thomas Araujo (192-2004) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. Cuban center Arle Zaporta responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and forward Emilio Taboada (191-1982) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Despite that victory Tabare went down to eleventh position due to points difference. Loser Yale keeps the twelfth place with 12 games lost.

Atenas were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Agustin Mendez (180-2003) contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Olimpia players scored in double figures.
