The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Yale (#2) and Lagomar (#5). Lagomar was defeated at home 61-71 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Yale forced 27 Lagomar turnovers. It was a great evening for Argentinian Agustina Bazan (174-2003) who led her team to a victory scoring 18 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Argentinian point guard Julieta Sienra (161-2003) helped adding 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Yale's coach Gino Alderete used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Belen Moreira (-1999) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 20 rebounds and 4 blocks. Yale maintains second place with 10-3 record having just one point less than leader D.Sporting, which they share with Malvin. Lagomar lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with nine games lost.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Aguada. 4th placed host Aguada (6-8) was smashed by third ranked Malvin (10-3) 88-58. It was an exceptional evening for center Selena Medrick (177-2002) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Carla Miculka accounted for 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Argentinian swingman Agustina Garcia (173-1996) came up with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for Aguada in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Malvin moved-up to second place, which they share with Yale. Aguada at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost.
Bottom-ranked Cordon (0-13) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 13th consecutive match to sixth ranked 25 de Agosto (10-4) 62-45 on Sunday evening.
