Center Selena Medrick (177-C-2002) put on an amazing game in the last round for Malvin Montevideo, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7 (Second Stage).
The 23-year old player was the main contributor (20 points, eight rebounds and two assists) to her team's victory, helping them to outclass Aguada (#4, 6-8) with 30-point margin 88-58. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Malvin maintains the 3rd position in Uruguayan Liga Femenina. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier in Second Stage. Malvin will need more victories to improve their 10-3 record. It's Medrick's second year at Malvin and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Selena Medrick averages this season 12.1ppg and 7.1rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young Argentinian Agustina Garcia (173-F/G-1996) of Atletico Aguada. Garcia had a very good evening with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Aguada lost that game 58-88 to slightly higher-ranked Malvin (#3, 10-3). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Aguada still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-8 record. Garcia is a newcomer at Aguada, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.0ppg (#5). Her other stats are also decent: 7.7rpg and 5.1apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was Belen Moreira (1999) of Lagomar Canelones Montevideo (#5). Moreira scored 11 points and grabbed 20 rebounds (!!!). Despite Moreira's great performance the Lagomar lost 61-71 to the higher-ranked Yale (#2, 10-3). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Lagomar not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 9 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Moreira could try to bring Lagomar's a little bit higher in the standings. Moreira has individually a great season in Uruguay. After 14 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.9rpg (2nd best). She also has 1.1bpg and a FGP of 50.8%.
