Carla Miculka gets MVP of the Week award for Uruguayan Liga Femenina (Second Stage) - by Hoops Agents

Experienced Argentinian Carla Miculka (174-F-1993) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Malvin Montevideo and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8 (Second Stage).
The 32-year old forward had the game-high 12 points adding nine rebounds and six assists for Malvin in her team's victory, helping them to edge out D.Sporting (#1, 12-2) 65-63. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Malvin maintains the 3rd position in Uruguayan Liga Femenina. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier in Second Stage. Malvin will need more victories to improve their 11-3 record. Miculka turned to be Malvin's top player in her first season with the team. Miculka has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (9th best: 13.6ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 10.9rpg), assists (8th best: 3.9apg) and averages solid 1.8bpg and 62.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Argentinian guard Melina Marcial (168-G-1998) of Places 6-10 second-ranked Urunday Universitario Montevideo. Marcial impressed basketball fans with 28 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course she led Urunday to another comfortable win 91-74 over the lower-ranked 25 de Agosto (#6, 10-5) being unquestionably team leader. Urunday's second position in the standings has not changed. Her team's 7-7 record is not bad at all. Marcial is a newcomer at Urunday and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.7ppg (#2). Her other stats are also decent: 5.4rpg and 4.6apg.

The third best performed player last round was Argentinian Melina Niz (165-PG-2005, agency: BIG) of Juventud Las Piedras (#8). Niz scored 28 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. She was a key player of Juventud, leading her team to a 74-39 easy win against Cordon (#10, 0-14). The chances of Juventud ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 8 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Niz could help Juventud to bring them higher in the standings. Niz has a very solid season. In 2 games in Uruguay she scored 24.5ppg.
