Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Bottom-ranked Capitol managed to get the second consecutive victory on Wednesday night. This time they outleveled tenth-ranked Montevideo 84-58. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 26-point difference proves that Capitol was well-prepared to that game. They also forced 19 Montevideo turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized Italian point guard Mateo Giano (186-2000) who scored 21 points and 9 assists. Gonzalo Alvarez (197-1991) chipped in 20 points and 6 assists. Guard Lucas Bennett (185-2004) produced 12 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Capitol maintains thirteenth position with 4-14 record. Montevideo lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Stockolmo and Tabare.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Montevideo, where 9th ranked Stockolmo (9-11) lost to twelfth ranked Yale (6-13) in a road game 71-79. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Stockolmo. Point guard Bruno Curadossi (191-2004) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 assists. Diego Garcia contributed with 17 points for the winners. Argentinian forward Lucio Castellani (196-1994) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for Stockolmo. Stockolmo's coach Andres Borroni rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Yale moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Colon. Stockolmo at the other side keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Tabare and Montevideo.
In the last game of round 8 Yale was defeated by Tabare in a road game 81-75.
The best stats of 8th round was 35 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds by Kwame Alexander of Tabare.
