Second Stage Round 8: Yale - Stockolmo 79-71

We should mention about the upset which took place in Montevideo, where 9th rankedStockolmo (9-11) lost to twelfth ranked Yale (6-13) in a road game 71-79 . It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Stockolmo. Strangely Stockolmo outrebounded Yale 43-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. Point guard Bruno Curadossi (191-2004) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 assists. Argentinian Diego Garcia (195-1996) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Argentinian forward Lucio Castellani (196-1994) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and forward Tomas de Leon (195-1999) added 12 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Stockolmo. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Stockolmo's coach Andres Borroni rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Yale moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Colon. Stockolmo at the other side keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Tabare and Montevideo.
