The biggest surprise of round 7 in LUB was guest Malvin's (4-2) easy road victory over 4th placed Defensor (3-3) 92-76 on Tuesday evening. American guard Remy Abell (193-1992, college: Xavier) fired 29 points for the winners. Puerto Rican swingman Jesus Cruz (196-1998, college: Fairfield) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. Guard Facundo Terra (187-1998) produced 14 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Malvin moved-up to third place, which they share with Aguada. Defensor at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Malvin's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Bigua.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: Nacional (#2) and Bigua (#7). Bigua was crushed at home by 17 points 93-110 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Dominican center James Feldeine (193-1988, college: Quinnipiac) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 4 assists. Connor Zinaich contributed with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. American center Franklin Hassell (205-1988, college: ODU) answered with 27 points and 8 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) for Bigua. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nacional (5-1) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place having just one point less than leader Penarol. Bigua at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Nacional's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Urunday.
Goes can celebrate finally their first win this season after five consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked U.Atletica (3-3) 78-62 on Monday. It was a great evening for David Nesbitt who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 8 rebounds. Goes' coach Nicolas Diaz used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Quatarrius Wilson responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Goes (1-5) left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with Cordon. U.Atletica at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Goes' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Cordon.

Other games of round 7 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Hebraica defeated Urunday in Montevideo 92-75. Winless Welcome lost to undefeated Penarol at home 80-102. Cordon was destroyed by Aguada on the opponent's court 86-107.




Bigua - Nacional 93-110

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: Nacional (#2) and Bigua (#7). Bigua was crushed at home by 17 points 93-110 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Nacional shot the lights out from three nailing 20 long-distance shots on high 58.8 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Goes can celebrate finally their first win this season after five consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked U.Atletica (3-3) 78-62 on Monday. There was a minor upset in Montevideo where 6th ranked Urunday (3-3) was defeated by ninth ranked Hebraica (3-2) 92-75 on Monday. Hebraica dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Urunday's 30. Hebraica looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American center Arnold Louis (201-1990, college: SSU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds. Forward Ignacio Xavier (195-1999) helped adding 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Hebraica players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Travis Daniels (203-1992, college: MSU, agency: Olsta) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) and forward Agustin Moller (198-2006) scored 16 points. Urunday's coach Mauricio Gonzalez rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Hebraica moved-up to fifth place. Loser Urunday keeps the sixth position with three games lost. Penarol outrebounded Welcome 38-17 including a 28-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Penarol looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists.
