The most exciting game of round 15 in the LUB took place in Montevideo. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 8th ranked Urunday (7-8) to seventh ranked Defensor (8-5) 80-78 on Wednesday evening. It was a great evening for American point guard Elijah Weaver (197-1998, college: Chicago St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Facundo Terra (187-1998) helped adding 17 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was American guard Eric Demers (185-1997, college: Gordon) with 28 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defensor moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Aguada. Urunday at the other side keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. Defensor's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Goes.

It was an exceptional evening for naturalized Spanish forward Gonzalo Iglesias (203-1993) who led the winners and scored 27 points and 6 rebounds. Deshone Hicks accounted for 20 points and 10 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard Juan Zanotta (185-1995) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 assists for Hebraica in the defeat. Bigua maintains seventh place with 8-6 record. Hebraica at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Bigua's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Aguada.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Montevideo: Malvin (#4) and Aguada (#5). Malvin (10-5) crushed visiting Aguada (8-5) by 17 points 89-72. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Aguada. The best player for the winners was Joshua Webster who scored 22 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Donald Sims who recorded 18 points. Aguada's coach German Cortizas rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Malvin moved-up to third place. Loser Aguada keeps the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Defensor. Malvin's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena .

In the last game of round 15 Goes were destroyed by Nacional on the opponent's court 99-79.




Hebraica - Bigua 99-108

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Montevideo: Bigua (#7) and Hebraica (#3). Hebraica was defeated at home 99-108 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hebraica. Bigua shot the lights out from three nailing 20 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized Spanish forward Gonzalo Iglesias (203-1993) who led the winners and scored 27 points and 6 rebounds. American point guard Deshone Hicks (178-1999, college: Ferrum) accounted for 20 points and 10 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Guard Juan Zanotta (185-1995) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 assists and American forward Jalen Canty (203-1995, college: UCSB, agency: Haylett Sports) added 20 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Hebraica in the defeat. Five Bigua and four Hebraica players scored in double figures. Bigua maintains seventh place with 8-6 record. Hebraica at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Nacional - Goes 99-79

Very expected game in Montevideo where 10th ranked Goes (3-11) were crushed by second ranked Nacional (10-4) 99-79 on Wednesday. Nacional dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Goes' 36. Nacional forced 20 Goes turnovers. Strangely Goes outrebounded Nacional 52-38 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Goes' players. The best player for the winners was American forward Connor Zinaich (201-1997, college: Nova SE) who scored 26 points and 9 rebounds. Patricio Prieto chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Nacional's coach Alvaro Ponce used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Troy Cracknell (193-1999, college: Augusta) who recorded 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import Akia Pruitt (203-1997, college: UNCP) added 10 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Four Goes players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains second place with 10-4 record having just one point less than leader Penarol. Goes lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the tenth position with 11 games lost.
