Santos number one in Uruguay LUB for round 18 (by Hoops Agents)

Dominican Rep. Center Luis Santos (203-C-1994) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Atletico Aguada Montevideo, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 31-year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds, while his team crushed Cordon (#11, 3-14) with 23-point margin 109-86. Aguada is placed at 4th position in Uruguayan LUB. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Aguada will need more victories to improve their 10-5 record. Santos turned to be Aguada's top player in his first season with the team. Luis Santos averages this season 18.4ppg and 9.6rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Ty Prince (198-F-1999) of Union Atletica Montevideo. Prince had a very good evening with 29 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he led U.Atletica to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Goes (#10, 4-13) 96-76. U.Atletica's 8th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 8-9 record. Prince is a newcomer at U.Atletica, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Jalen Canty (203-F-1995, agency: Haylett Sports) of Hebraica Macabi Montevideo (#5). Canty scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. He was a key player of Hebraica, leading his team to a 90-85 win against the lower-ranked Urunday (#9, 7-10). Hebraica needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 10 victories and 6 lost games. Canty has a great season in Uruguay. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.3rpg (5th best). He also has 1.3bpg and a FGP of 58.7%.
