Zinaich's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

28-year old American forward Connor Zinaich (201-F-1997) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Nacional De Futbol Montevideo and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 23.
He had a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds, while his team outclassed Cordon (#12, 3-19) with 51-point margin 126-75. Nacional maintains the 3rd position in Uruguayan league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Nacional will need more victories to improve their 14-8 record. In the team's last game Zinaich had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Nacional's top player in his first season with the team. Nova Southeastern University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Zinaich is in league's top in points (7th best: 17.8ppg), rebounds (6th best: 8.4rpg) and averages solid 1.6bpg and 63.7% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Rashad Hassan (203-C/F-1989) of Atletico Welcome Montevideo. He is American in his first season at Welcome. In the last game Hassan recorded an impressive double-double of 26 points and 17 rebounds. It was enough for Welcome to edge the higher-ranked Bigua (#8, 11-11) by 5 points 86-81. This victory allowed Welcome to leave bottom place moving a little bit up to 11th position in the standings. 18 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Welcome managed to get this year. Hassan is a newcomer at Welcome and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.4ppg (#3). He also registered 7.8 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Deshone Hicks (178-PG-1999) of Atletico Bigua Montevideo (#8). Hicks showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. Despite Hicks' great performance the Bigua lost 81-86 to the lower-ranked Welcome (#11, 4-18). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Bigua needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 11 victories and 11 lost games. Hicks has a great season in Uruguay. After 22 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 5.1apg (7th best). He also has a FGP of 54.4% and 3PT: 52.3%.
