Emilia Borges gets MVP of the Week award for Uruguayan Liga Femenina (by Hoops Agents)

Emilia Borges (184-F/C-2002) had an amazing evening in the last round for Urunday Universitario Montevideo and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 23-year old power forward had the game-high 12 points adding nine rebounds for Urunday in her team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Tabare (#8, 0-1) with 29-point margin 82-53. Thanks to this victory Urunday moved-up to the 4th position in Uruguayan Liga Femenina. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Urunday won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Borges just recently signed at Urunday and it was her first game, where she immediately became new team's leader.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young point guard Catalina Tano (174-PG-2003) of second-ranked Lagomar Canelones Montevideo. Tano impressed basketball fans with 17 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course she led Lagomar to another comfortable win outscoring Cordon (0-1) 93-56. Her team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Tano is one of the most experienced players at Lagomar and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.0ppg (#3). She also recorded 4.0 assists per game.

The third best performed player last round was Carolina Fernandez (186-G-2003) of Malvin Montevideo (#3). Fernandez showcased her all-around game by recording 13 points, 11 rebounds (!!!) and 10 assists (!!!) in the last round. She was a key player of Malvin, leading her team to a 77-63 easy win against Aguada (#6, 0-1). Malvin has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Fernandez also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Fernandez as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be team's leader.
