Tambasco's 24 points give her Player of the Week award

19-year old forward Sofia Tambasco (F-2006) put on an amazing game in the last round for Atletico Tabare and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
She had the game-high 24 points adding three rebounds and two assists for Tabare in her team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team 25 de Agosto (#8, 0-1) with 68-point margin 99-31. Tabare is placed at 7th position in Uruguayan Liga Femenina. Tabare is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. In the team's last game Tambasco had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. It's her second year at Tabare and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Tambasco has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (5th best: 15.0ppg) and averages solid 4.5spg,54.5% FGP and 41.7% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Rocio Sagardoy (176-G/F-2000) of Lagomar Canelones Montevideo. She is Argentinian swingman in her first season at Lagomar. In the last game Sagardoy recorded an impressive double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Lagomar lost that game 60-72 to Aguada (1-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Sagardoy is one of the most experienced players at Lagomar and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Tabare's star - forward Carolina Curbelo (178-F-2002). Curbelo scored 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). She was another key player of Atletico Tabare, helping her team with a 99-31 easy win against 25 de Agosto (#8, 0-1). Tabare needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 1 victory and 1 lost game. Curbelo has a great season in Uruguay. After only 2 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.5rpg (3rd best).
