The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Yale (#5) and Lagomar (#4). Yale (4-4) won against visiting Lagomar (4-4) 55-45. Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Montevideo: Malvin (#2) and Cordon (#8). Cordon was crushed at home by 61 points 18-79 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Argentinian forward Carla Miculka (174-1993) nailed 15 points for the winning side and Carolina Fernandez accounted for 8 points and 7 assists. Argentinian center Martina Schunk (181-2005) came up with 3 points and 14 rebounds for Cordon in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Malvin (7-1) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place behind leader D.Sporting. Cordon lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with seven games lost.
Liga Femenina top team - D.Sporting (8-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Tabare (3-5) 78-48. The best player for the winners was Josefina Rivera who scored 19 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Abril Ramirez who recorded 15 points and 7 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for D.Sporting. Defending champion maintains first place with 8-0 record. Tabare lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Urunday.
