The most surprising game was a loss of O.Mundial (1-1) on the court of Urupan on Wednesday night. Visitors were rolled over by Urupan 82-54. Urupan outrebounded O.Mundial 49-32 including a 40-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Urupan looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for guard Facundo Izarrualde (184-2001) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Joaquin Jones (199-1997) helped adding 10 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Anthony Duncan II (201-2000, college: Southeastern) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
Albatros (2-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat Marne (0-2) in Montevideo 90-78. It was a quality performance for Panamanian forward Aaron Gedeon (203-1999, college: Southwest, agency: AltusBasket) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. Thiago Copelotti accounted for 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Albatros' coach Nicolas Ellis used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Hernan Alvarez (182-1999) came up with 20 points and 9 assists for Marne in the defeat.
An interesting game took place in Colon where Colon (0-2) was upset on its own court by Verdirrojo (1-1) 91-84 on Wednesday. The best player for the winners was JMartin Mayora who scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Felipe Garcia who recorded 36 points (!!!) (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Colon's coach Diego Rodriguez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 14 points and 14 rebounds by Rick Jackson of Urupan.
