Rafael Rodrigues gets MVP of the Week award for Uruguayan Liga de Ascenso

Experienced Brazilian Rafael Rodrigues (213-C-1987) had a great game in the last round for league's second-best Stockholmo Montevideo and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Liga de Ascenso Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 38-year old center had a double-double of 27 points and 21 rebounds, while his team beat L.Borges (#7, 1-1) 88-79. Stockolmo is placed at 2nd position in Uruguayan Liga de Ascenso. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Stockolmo won both games without losing any. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Rodrigues had a remarkable 58.8% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Stockolmo and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Rodrigues has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 20.0ppg) and averages solid 3.0spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American swingman Dennis McKinney (194-G/F-1998) of Club Trouville Montevideo. McKinney impressed basketball fans with 24 points and 9 rebounds. Of course he led Trouville to another comfortable win 93-79 over Sayago (#14, 0-2) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Trouville to move up to 3rd position in the standings. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won both games so far. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. McKinney is one of the most experienced players at Trouville and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.5ppg (#2). He also registered 6.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Josh Ferguson (203-PF-1996) of Sayago (#14). Ferguson scored 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). Despite Ferguson's great performance the Sayago lost 79-93 to the league's current leader Trouville (#3, 2-0). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Ferguson has individually a great season in Uruguay. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.5ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 12.0rpg (4th best).
