LNB 2008 Finals - Game 3: Duros de Lara sweeps, becomes Venezuela's champion
Valera, Venezuela.- Duros de Lara became champions of Venezuela's Liga Nacional de Baloncesto 2008 with a three-game sweep over Caciques de Trujillo, after defeating Caciques de Trujillo in Game 3, 93-82, and doing so as visitors at Ricardo Salas Arena of Valera, Trujillo.
A first quarter of five three-point shots, including two by Lawrence Wallace and other three quarters of tough resistence to the defensive pressure of Caciques and the pressure of a noisy and passionate group of supporters, helped the team coached by Silverio Leal to get the win. Six players of Duros netted 10 or more points in another display of team effort over individual talent. Duros played without Diego Guevara (184-G-77), who had to travel to Puerto La Cruz due to compromises with his LPB 2009 team, Marinos de Anzoategui.

The authorities of LNB, led by president Carlos Boza, and the president of the Venezuelan Basketball Federation (FVB), Carmelo Cortez, were there to deliver the trophy to the winning team. The president of Duros, Ender Luzardo, and general manager and former player Armando Becker were among the ones who celebrated the title right there on court.
