LNB 2011 Finals - Game 5: Centauros de Apure win fourth LNB championship - Dec 5, 2011

Barquisimeto, Venezuela.- Centauros de Apure defeated Tiburones de Vargas 85-84 at Bravos de Apure Dome of Biruaca, in Game 5 of Liga Nacional de Baloncesto's 2011 Finals, to take the series 3-2 and win their fourth LNB championship in the history of the franchise, after those of 1993, 1995 and 1998.

After a 24-24 tie in the first 10 minutes, the team coached by Nestor Salazar finished ahead in the following quarters, 46-41, 67-65 and 85-84 thanks in part to the Most Valuable Player of the Finals, Rafael Perez (193-G/F-82).

The deciding point came thanks to a two-point shot by Carl Elliott (193-G-83) in the last 29 seconds to which Tiburones de Vargas had no answer, as Elliott stole the ball in the next offensive by the visitors.

Delfines de Miranda remains as the team with the most LNB titles ever with 5, won in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006. Part of those tournaments were won by the name Delfines de Cabimas.
