Carrera has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016. He has been also a member of Venezuelan international program for some years. Carrera has regularly played for Venezuelan senior team since 2012 and previously for U16 National Team back in 2009. He represented Venezuela at the Panamerican Games in Lima (Peru) last year. Carrera is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in eight different countries playing on four different continents. He is familiar with European, Latin American, Australian and of course North American leagues. Carrera has played previously professionally in Argentina (Obras), Australia (Cairns Taipans), Chile (AB Ancud), Mexico (Soles), Russia (Avtodor), Germany (Brose Bamberg), Venezuela (Marinos and Trotamundos) and NBA G League (OKC Blue). Among many awards his team won Venezuelan LPB Cup in 2019. Carrera received also Latinbasket.com All-Venezuelan LPB Rookie of the Year award back in 2017. He attended University of South Carolina until 2016 and it will be his fifth season in pro basketball.
