Tanksley Efianayi gets MVP of the Week award for Venezuelan SPB (by Hoops Agents)- August 12, 2022
The 28-year old swingman had the game-high 34 points adding nine rebounds and three assists for Supersonicos as his team was edged out by Taurinos (#4, 3-8) 100-97. Supersonicos maintains the 3rd position in their group in Venezuelan SPB. Supersonicos is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 6th lost game this season out of 9 games. In the team's last game Efianayi had a remarkable 64.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Supersonicos' top player in his first season with the team. Tanksley Efianayi averages this season 16.8ppg and 6.9rpg. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American point guard Keron DeShields (190-PG-1992, agency: BIG) of Heroes. DeShields impressed basketball fans with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. It was enough for Heroes to edge slightly lower-ranked Gaiteros (#5, 5-9) by 3 points 87-84. Heroes' 3rd position in West-B has not changed. His team's 6-5 record is not bad at all. DeShields is a newcomer at Heroes and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. The third best performed player last round was Edson Tovar (180-PG-2005) of Toros (#5). Tovar scored 29 points and passed eight assists. Despite Tovar's great performance Toros lost 74-89 to the higher-ranked Broncos (#2, 10-4). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Toros can only dream about fighting for top spots in West-A. They have rather bad season and 2-10 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Tovar has individually a great season in Venezuela. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.0ppg (9th best). He also has 3.1spg and FGP: 52.0%. Other top performing players last week: 4. Kwame Alexander (201-F/C-1990) of Taurinos - 28 points and 12 rebounds 5. Alcides Martinez (198-SF) of Gaiteros - 24 points and 7 rebounds 6. Nicholas Wadell (201-F-1989) of Cangrejeros - 25 points and 4 rebounds 7. Garly Sojo (196-PG-1999) of Broncos - 19 points and 7 rebounds 8. Lysander Bracey (193-G-1996) of Cangrejeros - 28 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists 9. Roquez Johnson (201-C-1992) of Gigantes - 17 points and 7 rebounds 10. Luis Montero (203-SF-1993) of Cocodrilos - 24 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
