SPB 2023 - Cangrejeros add Duke Mondy to their roster, ex Al Madina

Cangrejeros-de-Monagas (SPB) added to their roster 32-year old American guard Duke Mondy (193cm-94kg-1990, college: Oakland, agency: BIG) for new 2023 season.

Mondy just played at Al Madina in Libyan D1 league. The last season he played at Ahly Benghazi (also in D1). Quite impressive season as he was voted to Afrobasket.com All-Libyan League Honorable Mention.

In 2014 he was drafted by Rio Grande Valley Vipers (D-League) in fourth round (68th overall). The former Oakland University star is in his ninth season in pro basketball.

He is quite experienced player. Mondy's career allowed him to visit four different continents, while he played in seven different countries.

Mondy tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Latin America, Africa and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Canada (Moncton Magic and Highlanders), Colombia (Cafeteros), Luxembourg (Arantia), Mexico (Ostioneros de Guaymas), Poland (GTK), Ukraine (Odessa) and NBA G League (Sioux Falls Skyforce and Texas Legends).

The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team was regular season runner-up in Colombian LPB Clausura in 2021. Mondy was selected to Horizon League All-Defensive Team back in 2014.
