Brillantes-de-Zulia (SPB) signed 32-year old American forward Glen Rice Jr. (198cm-93kg-1991, college: Georgia Tech) for the upcoming SPB 2023 season. Rice played last summer at Power (Big3) in the U.S. He managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year. The last season he was tested by Next Urban Maccabi Haifa in Israeli National League where in 5 games he had very impressive stats: 22.4ppg, 7.6rpg, 3.2apg and 1.2spg. Rice also played 4 games in Balkan League where he recorded also remarkable stats: 16.0ppg, 6.3rpg, 4.0apg and 2.8spg. The other team he played shortly was Aliens in U.S. semi-pro league ABA. In 5 games he averaged high stats: 22.4ppg, 7.6rpg and 3.2apg.
In 2012 he was drafted by Rio Grande Valley Vipers (D-League) in fourth round (55th overall).
The former Georgia Institute of Technology standout is in his twelfth (!!!) season in pro basketball.
He is quite experienced player. Rice has played in fifteen different countries on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Argentina (Instituto), Australia (New Zealand Breakers), Bahrain (Al-Ahli), Iran (Chemidor), Lithuania (Juventus), Mexico (Aaguacateros and Halcones de Ciudad Obregon), Philippines (TNT Tropang), Puerto Rico (Grises), Saudi Arabia (Al Fateh), Israel (Hapoel Holon), Dominican Republic (Plaza and Reales), NBA G League (RGV Vipers and Fort Wayne Mad Ants), El Salvador (Halcones), UBA (Georgia Spartans) and Nicaragua (Real Esteli). His team was regular season runner-up in Mexican CIBACOPA in 2017 and 2019. Rice was voted to Latinbasket.com Mexican CIBACOPA All-Imports Team back in 2017 and 2019.
