SPB 2023 - Gladiadores add Daniel Ochefu to their roster

Gladiadores de Anzoategui (SPB) added to their roster 29-year old Nigerian ex-international forward Daniel Ochefu (211cm-111kg-1993, college: Villanova). Ochefu moved there from Al Riyadi in Lebanese LBL league. He managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year. In 6 LBL games he recorded 11.7ppg, 8.7rpg, 2.0apg and 1.8bpg. Good season as he was named League Player of the Week. Ochefu also played 5 games in West Asia Super League where he averaged 11.4ppg, 8.8rpg and 1.2apg.
Part of previous (2023) summer he spent at TNT Tropang in Filipino league. In two LBL games he had 10.5ppg, 10.5rpg, 1.5spg and 1.5bpg. He also spent pre-season at Gaiteros that year.
Ochefu has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
He also represented Nigeria at the Afrobasket Championship six years ago. Ochefu's team won Silver and his stats at that event were 5 games: 5.0ppg, 5.8rpg.
Ochefu is quite experienced player. Ochefu's career allowed him to visit four different continents, while he played in seven different countries. He tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America. Ochefu has played previously professionally in Japan (Cyberdyne Ibaraki Robots), Korea (Seoul Thunders), Mexico (Libertadores), Spain (Rio Breogan), NBA (Boston Celtics, NY Knicks and Washington Wizards), NBA G League (Stockton Kings, Maine Celtics and Windy City Bulls) and The Basketball Tournament (Team 23 and Heartfire). His team won Big East Regular Season in 2014, 2015 and 2016. He was voted to All-Big East Honorable Mention back in 2015 and 2016.
He graduated from Villanova University in 2016 and it will be his seventh season as a professional player.
