SPB 2023 - Piratas pick Danny Agbelese (Marinos) for the playoffs

Piratas de la Guaira (SPB) tabbed 33-year old American (has also Nigerian passport) 203cm center Danny Agbelese (college: Hampton). Agbelese moved there from Marinos. In three SPB games in Venezuela just recently he averaged 9.3ppg, 10.3rpg, 1.0apg and 1.3bpg last season. He also spent pre-season at Sameji (Santiago League) in Dominican Rep. league that year.
Agbelese is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in six different countries playing on four different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian, Latin American and of course North American leagues. Agbelese has played previously professionally in France, Greece (Peristeri, Kolossos H Hotels Rodou, Promitheas and Holargos), Iran (Esteghlal), Italy, Spain (Estudiantes, Ourense, Real Betis, Guadalajara and Gipuzkoa) and Uruguay (Union Atletica Montevideo and Wanderers).
Among many awards he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LEB Silver Defensive Player of the Year back in 2015.
He graduated from Hampton University in 2012 and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball. Agbelese played also for Collin County College for 2 years.
