SPB 2024 - Byron Wesley (ex NSA) joins Pioneros

Pioneros Del Avila (SPB) agreed terms with 31-year old American guard Byron Wesley (196cm-95kg-1992, college: Gonzaga). Wesley moved there from Nadim Souaid Academy in Lebanese Division 2. In 7 games he had very impressive stats: 25.6ppg, 6.9rpg, 3.7apg and 2.4spg last season. He also played for Ahly Tripoli (D1) in Libyan league. The other team he played shortly was Al Shurtah in Iraqi league where in three Division 2 games he recorded 9.0ppg, 2.3rpg, 1.3apg, 1.0spg and 1.0bpg.
Wesley is quite experienced player. Wesley's career allowed him to visit five different continents, while he played in nine different countries. He tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and of course North America. Wesley has played previously professionally in Bulgaria (Akademik Sofia), Finland (KTP-Basket and Kataja), France (Olympique Antibes), Israel (Hapoel Kfar Saba/Shalom), Poland (Spojnia and MKS), NBA G League (Sioux Falls Skyforce), Nicaragua (Jaguares), The Basketball Tournament (Kimchi Express) and Iraq (Al-Hashd and Dijlah).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team made it to the Bulgarian final in 2018. He was voted to Eurobasket.com All-French ProB Honorable Mention back in 2021.
Wesley graduated from Gonzaga University in 2015 and it is his ninth season as a professional player. He played also for University of Southern California for 3 years.
