Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The most exciting game of round 28 in the SPB took place in Caracas. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th ranked Broncos (9-8) to second ranked Trotamundos (13-6) 97-94 on Tuesday evening. Trotamundos looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Broncos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Jhornan Zamora (196-1989) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 5 assists. The former international center Nestor Colmenares (200-1987, college: Campbellsville, agency: Pro Sports) contributed with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American swingman Jordan Williams (196-1992, college: N.Texas) replied with 27 points (made all of his seven free throws) for Broncos. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Trotamundos maintains second position with 13-6 record behind leader Gladiadores. Broncos at the other side keep the fourth place with eight games lost. Trotamundos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Broncos will play again at home against the league's second-placed Trotamundos (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Caracas: Spartans (#6) and Pioneros (#3). Pioneros were defeated at home 83-89 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Worth to mention a great performance of Dominican swingman Jassel Perez (195-2001, agency: BMS Sport Agency) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 6 rebounds and Will Davis II who added 19 points during the contest. At the losing side American Tim Bond (201-1995, college: EMU, agency: BMS Sport Agency) responded with 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Spartans maintains sixth position with 8-9 record. Pioneros at the other side keep the third place with eight games lost. Spartans' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Caracas to the arena Brillantes.
The game in Caracas was also quite interesting. 7th ranked Frontinos (7-11) played at the court of eighth ranked Llaneros (5-12). The winners were led by Julio De Assis who scored that evening 14 points and 6 rebounds. Even 15 points by Michael Henry did not help to save the game for Frontinos. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Llaneros moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Panteras. Loser Frontinos keep the seventh position with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
