The Regular Season in SPB is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 3 rounds. Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Caracas: Broncos (#5) and Brillantes (#6). Broncos (13-10) won against visiting Brillantes (11-11) 88-83. Broncos made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Brillantes turnovers. Strangely Brillantes outrebounded Broncos 50-32 including 38 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American swingman Jordan Williams (196-1992, college: N.Texas) who scored 24 points and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Tyler Wilkerson (203-1988, college: Marshall) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Tu Holloway (183-1989, college: Xavier) who recorded 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Brillantes' coach Gustavo Garcia tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Broncos have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Pioneros. Brillantes at the other side keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. Broncos' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Caracas to the arena Spartans.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Caracas. Local Pioneros (13-10) outscored 7th ranked Frontinos (8-16) 102-63. It was a good game for Dominican-American forward Anyeuri Castillo (201-1997, college: USC Aiken) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 7 rebounds. Elian Centeno contributed with 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Pioneros' coach Nelson Solorzano felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Steven Quiroz (187-1993) answered with 10 points and 5 rebounds for Frontinos. Pioneros moved-up to third place, which they share with Broncos. Frontinos lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
In the last game of round 39 Diablos were crushed by Guaiqueries in Porlamar 93-66.

St.Leo) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Diablos. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
Guaiqueries have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain second place with
17-7 record behind leader Gladiadores.
Diablos lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 19 games lost.
Guaiqueries will play against Panteras (#7) in Caracas in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Diablos will have a break next round.
