SPB 2024 - Heroes draft Matthew Butler and Evert Bernal for the playoffs

Matthew Butler

Heroes De Falcon (SPB) drafted 29-year old American 188cm guard Matthew Butler (college: UT Martin) for the SPB 2024 playoffs, alongside Venezuelan Evert Bernal (195-SF-1996). Buttler played this summer at Gaiteros. In 16 SPB games in Venezuela just recently he recorded very impressive stats: 15.6ppg, 2.8rpg, 1.6apg and 1.0spg. The last season he played at Union in Argentinian La Liga where in 25 games he averaged 8.8ppg, 1.6rpg and 2.0apg.
He is a very experienced player. Butler has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Mexico (Freseras), Albania (Vllaznia), Dominican Republic (Soles) and United Arab Emirates (Al Dhafra).
Among many awards he played in the final of Albanian League in 2022. Butler was voted to Eurobasket.com Albanian Superliga All-Imports Team in 2022.
He graduated from University of Tennessee at Martin in 2018 and it will be his eighth season in pro basketball. Butler played also for University of Rhode Island for 2 years.
