SPB 2025 - Piratas sign DaJuan Summers, ex Al-Difaa

DaJuan Summers

Piratas de la Guaira (SPB) signed experienced 37-year old American power forward DaJuan Summers (203cm-109kg-1988, college: Georgetown) for upcoming 2025 season. Summers just played at Al-Difaa in Iraqi Superleague. In 10 games he had 13.3ppg, 6.6rpg, 2.0apg and 1.3spg last season. He also played for Air Defence Sporting Club (Superleague).
In 2009 he was drafted by Detroit Pistons (NBA) in second round (35th overall). Summers graduated from Georgetown University and it will be his 16th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
He is quite experienced player. Summers has played in eighteen different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Bahrain (Al-Muharraq), France (Metropolitans), Iran (Mahram), Italy, Japan (Magic), Korea (Skygunners and Knights), Lebanon (Homentmen), Philippines (Painters), Puerto Rico (Indios), Saudi Arabia (Al Ittihad), Spain (Gran Canaria), Taiwan (Kings), Turkey (Pinar Karsiyaka and Galatasaray), Ukraine, NBA (NY Knicks), Dominican Republic (Rafael Barias), NBA G League (Westchester Knicks) and Big3 (Ball Hogs and Tri-State). His team won Big East Regular Season in 2007 and 2008. Summers was voted to Asia-Basket.com Iranian Superleague All-Imports Team back in 2021 and 2022.
It's very possible he may end his playing career at Piratas.
