Bond's 25 points and 9 rebounds give him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

29-year old American shooting guard Tim Bond (201-SG-1995) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Pioneros Del Avila and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had the game-high 25 points adding nine rebounds and three assists for Pioneros in his team's victory, helping them to beat Frontinos (#4, 5-3) 86-80. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Thanks to this victory Pioneros moved-up to the 3rd position in Venezuelan league. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Pioneros will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. In the team's last game Bond had a remarkable 56.3% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Pioneros, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Eastern Michigan University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Bond is in league's top in points (9th best: 16.3ppg) and averages solid 61.5% FGP and 45.8% from behind 3-point line. Worth to mention Bond played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

Second best performed player last round was Shawn Jones (203-PF-1992) of Marinos de Oriente. He is American-Kosovan forward in his first season at Marinos. In the last game Jones recorded an impressive 20 points and 8 rebounds. Of course he led Marinos to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Panteras (#11, 3-4) 87-56. Despite this victory Marinos slide down in the standings to 5th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 5-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Jones is one of the most experienced players at Marinos and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Charles Garcia (204-PF-1988) of Gladiadores de Anzoategui (#6). Garcia scored 20 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. He was a key player of Gladiadores, leading his team to a 93-91 win against slightly lower-ranked Guaiqueries (#7, 3-4). Gladiadores needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 4 lost games. Garcia has a very solid season. In 8 games in Venezuela he scored 10.8ppg. He also has 6.6rpg and a FGP of 54.5%.
