The most exciting game of round 10 in the SPB took place in La Guaira. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Spartans (5-2) to twelfth ranked Piratas (3-4) 91-90 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Spartans. Dominican guard Juan Suero (196-1993) fired 32 points and 7 assists for the winners. American-Jamaican guard Rashad James (185-1990, college: Iona) chipped in 20 points. Piratas' coach Nestor Garcia used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Dominican swingman Jassel Perez (195-2001) produced 18 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Piratas moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Panteras and Guaiqueries. Spartans at the other side keep the second position with two games lost. They share it with Pioneros. Piratas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Spartans will play at home against Marinos and are hoping to win this game.

Worth to mention a great performance of American Rakim Brown (198-1991, college: Humboldt St.) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Joe Hampton contributed with 8 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. point guard Yochuar Palacios (183-1985) replied with 17 points for Llaneros. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toros maintains thirteenth position with 2-5 record. Llaneros at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Toros will play against higher ranked Brillantes (#11) in Caracas in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Llaneros will have a break next round.

At the losing side Isaac Banks responded with 24 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Piratas moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Panteras and Guaiqueries. Loser Cocodrilos dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. They share it with Brillantes. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
