Addison Spruill gets MVP of the Week award for Venezuelan SPB (by Hoops Agents)

Experienced American Addison Spruill (195-G-1993) had a great game in the last round for Toros de Aragua and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 19.
The 31-year old guard had the game-high 24 points adding five rebounds and four assists for Toros in his team's victory, helping them to beat Gaiteros (#1, 12-1) 74-67. Toros is placed at 11th position in Venezuelan SPB. Toros is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-8 record. In the team's last game Spruill had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range and got five three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He just recently signed at Toros, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Addison Spruill averages this season 14.5ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young swingman Luis Duarte (190-G/F-1994) of league's best team Gaiteros de Zulia. Duarte impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Gaiteros lost that game 67-74 to the lower-ranked Toros (#11, 5-8). Gaiteros managed to keep the same 1st spot in the standings. His team belongs to top of the standings with 12-1 record and is considered one of the main candidates for the league title. Duarte is one of the most experienced players at Gaiteros and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was American Willie Reed (211-C/F-1990, agency: Diamond Sports) of Cocodrilos de Caracas (#6). Reed scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Cocodrilos, leading his team to a 91-83 win against the lower-ranked Panteras (#13, 4-8). Cocodrilos needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 6 lost games. Reed has a great season in Venezuela. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.8rpg (2nd best). He also has 2.3bpg and a FGP of 53.3%.
