McCree number one in Venezuela SPB for round 25

American Forward Erik McCree (202-F-1993) had a very impressive game in the last round for Guaiqueries de Margarita, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 25.
The 31-year old player was the main contributor (29 points, six rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Marinos (#2, 11-7) 95-83. Guaiqueries maintains the 11th position in Venezuelan SPB. Guaiqueries is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-8 record. In the team's last game McCree had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He just recently signed at Guaiqueries and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Erik McCree averages just after two games 19.5ppg and 6.0rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Shawn Jones (203-PF-1992) of league's second-best Marinos de Oriente. Jones had a very good evening with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Marinos lost that game 83-95 to the lower-ranked Guaiqueries (#11, 7-8). Marinos managed to keep the same second spot in the standings. His team's 11-7 record is not bad at all. Jones is one of the most experienced players at Marinos and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Elijah Minnie (203-PF-1994, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) of Panteras de Miranda (#13). Minnie showcased his all-around game by recording 29 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. Despite Minnie's great performance the Panteras lost 84-87 to the higher-ranked Piratas (#8, 8-6). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Panteras can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 4-12 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Minnie has a very solid season. In 16 games in Venezuela he scored 15.0ppg. Minnie attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
