Venezuela's Superliga Profesional de Baloncesto (SPB) doesn't have an official date to start in 2026 but the transactions and news are already taking place.
Marinos and Gladiadores merger Marinos de Oriente and Gladiadores de Anzoategui have decided to stop the clash they've had over the past few seasons and have become a single franchise under the name Marinos de Oriente, which will mean that the historical franchise will be able to come back to its home city, Puerto La Cruz, Anzoategui, to play at its own court, Luis Ramos Arena, after a few years playing in Monagas State at Gilberto Roque Morales Arena of Maturin. Keiver Marcano (205-C-2003) traded to Marinos, Piratas get Arias and Rada This has also brought some changes internally. The team announced the acquisition of Keiver Marcano via trade -he's currently playing overseas in Argentina- from Piratas de La Guaira. Danny Arias (203-F-1997) and Raymond Rada (194-G/F-1997) will join Piratas after the agreement reached by general managers Gianni Patino (Marinos) and Alberto Diaz (Piratas). Bracho and Caraballo to Spartans In another trade, Spartans de Distrito Capital decided to send Leonardo Palacios (186-PG-1994) to Pioneros del Avila to get SG Jose Bracho (190-SG-1998). Bracho has played for Venezuela's Senior NT and has overseas experience, mostly in Argentina and Uruguay. Spartans had agreed to an earlier trade that sent Michael Rudas (179-PG-1994) to Spartans and sent Osbel Caraballo (196-F-1998, college: STAC) to Piratas de La Guaira. |
