SPB 2026 - Shavar Newkirk (ex Cimarrones) agreed terms with Centauros de Bolivar

Shavar Newkirk

Centauros de Bolivar (SPB) strengthened their roster with the addition of 29-year-old American 180cm shooting guard Shavar Newkirk (college: St. Joseph's, agency: Interperformances) for the upcoming season. He played last summer with Cimarrones in the Colombian LBP league. In three games, he recorded 3.0ppg, 1.7rpg, and 1.0apg. During the last season, he played with TSA Kalev in the Estonian league.
Thanks to Newkirk's pro career, he has played on three different continents (Europe, Asia, and North America) in six different countries. He has played professionally in Estonia, Germany (Schalke), Iceland (Hottur), Indonesia (NSH Mountain Gold Timika), and Czech Republic (Slavia).
In 2018, his team reached the Atlantic 10 Tournament Semifinals. In 2023, he was voted to Asia-Basket.com All-Indonesian IBL Honorable Mention.
Newkirk graduated from Saint Joseph's University in 2018 and is entering his ninth season in pro basketball.
