32-year old Dominican Rep. Luis Montero (203-SF-1993) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Cocodrilos de Caracas and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
He had the game-high 19 points adding nine rebounds and two assists for Cocodrilos in his team's victory, helping them to beat Marinos (#3, 5-2) 85-76. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Cocodrilos is placed at 2nd position in Venezuelan league. They are still close to the very top. Cocodrilos would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 5-1 record. Montero just recently signed at Cocodrilos, being already a very valuable addition to the team. South Plains College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Montero is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 8.8rpg) and averages solid 65.0% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Michael Carrera (196-F-1993, agency: BIG) of Spartans de Distrito Capital Caracas. He is international forward in his first season at Spartans. In the last game Carrera recorded an impressive 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Of course he led Spartans to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Diablos (#9, 2-4) 101-79. Despite this victory Spartans slide down in the standings to 6th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 4-3 record is not bad and everything may still change. Carrera is one of the most experienced players at Spartans and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Juan Guerrero (203-PF-1993) of Guaiqueries de Margarita (#5). Guerrero scored 19 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. He was a key player of Guaiqueries, leading his team to a 93-61 easy win against the lower-ranked Centauros (#10, 1-5). Guaiqueries is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 4-1 record is not that bad... Guerrero has a great season in Venezuela. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.8ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 8.0rpg (9th best).
