Nahziah Carter gets MVP of the Week award for Venezuelan SPB (by Hoops Agents)

American Nahziah Carter (198-G-1999) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader Gaiteros de Zulia and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 26-year old guard had the game-high 18 points adding six rebounds and three assists for Gaiteros in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Pioneros (#5, 5-3) with 36-point margin 102-66. It allowed Gaiteros to consolidate first place in the Venezuelan SPB. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is already in a full swing and Gaiteros still have not lost a single game, getting all 7 victories. In the team's last game Carter had a remarkable 61.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Gaiteros' top player in his first season with the team. Nahziah Carter averages this season 15.9ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Jordan Hamilton (201-F-1990) of Piratas de la Guaira. Hamilton impressed basketball fans with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course Piratas cruised to a 93-86 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Heroes (#12, 1-6). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Piratas is still at the dead bottom 13th position. 7 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Piratas managed to get this year. Hamilton is one of the most experienced players at Piratas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Dominican Rep. Juan Guerrero (203-PF-1993) of second-ranked Guaiqueries de Margarita. Guerrero scored 18 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. He was a key player of Guaiqueries, leading his team to a 67-62 win against the lower-ranked Diablos (#9, 2-5). Guaiqueries is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 5-1 record is not that bad... Guerrero has a great season in Venezuela. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.2ppg (2nd best).
