SPB 2026 - Marinos tab Tobin Carberry, ex Ghosthawks

Tobin Carberry

Newly promoted Marinos de Anzoategui (SPB) signed experienced 34-year-old American 192cm guard Tobin Carberry (college: LIU Post). He recently played for Ghosthawks in the Taiwanese PLeague+. In 13 games, he averaged an impressive 15.5ppg, 4.5rpg, 3.6apg, and 1.0spg last season, earning him the title of League Player of the Week. During the last season, he played for Peristeri Betsson Athens (GBL) in the Greek league, where he played 21 games and averaged 8.5ppg, 1.9rpg, and 2.2apg. Carberry's contributions helped the team reach the Supercup semifinals.
Carberry is a very experienced player. He has played professionally in Denmark (Bakken Bears), Finland (Vilpas), France (ADA Blois), Greece, Iceland (Hottur and Thor Thorl), Italy (UCC Assigeco Piacenza), Russia (Avtodor) and Turkey (Bornova and Mersin Spor).
Between these achievements, Carberry also won the Finnish Cup final with his college team in 2020. Additionally, he was awarded the Eurobasket.com All-Turkish TBL Player of the Year in 2023.
It is worth mentioning that he also played at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him secure a job in professional basketball.
He graduated from LIU Post in 2013 and is currently in his 13th (hopefully lucky) season in pro basketball. Carberry also played for Southern Connecticut State University for one year.
