SLBF 2026 - Daniela Morillo-Wallen (ex Montana) agreed terms with Hidrocarburos

Hidrocarburos de Caracas (SLBF) strengthened their roster with the addition of 31-year-old Venezuelan ex-international 179cm small forward Daniela Morillo-Wallen (college: Okla City). She moved there from Montana 2003 in the Bulgarian NBL league, but the plans were changed. In 13 games, she recorded very impressive stats: 15.8ppg, 6.2rpg, 2.3apg, and 2.5spg last season. She helped them to win the League title (in both Bulgarian League and WABA!!!). Great season indeed as she was awarded Eurobasket.com All-Bulgarian League Import Player of the Year and voted to All-Imports Team and League Player of the Week. Morillo-Wallen also played 14 games in WABA where she averaged a remarkable 17.0ppg, 7.6rpg, 3.4apg, and 2.8spg. She contributed to her team winning the WABA championship despite they ended the regular season at the second place. Morillo-Wallen was also a member of the Venezuelan international program for some years. She played for the Venezuelan Senior National Team between 2013 and 2024 and previously for the Under 16 National Team back in 2011.
Morillo-Wallen also represented Venezuela at the Olympic Games Pre-Qualifying Tournament in Medellin (Colombia) three years ago. During this event she scored an average of 12 points per game and had 6.7 rebounds per game.
She is a very experienced player. Thanks to her pro career, she managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Latin America, Australia, and of course North America) in eight different countries. Morillo-Wallen has played professionally in Australia (United), Chile (Los Leones), Finland (Peli Karhut), Iceland (Keflavik), Paraguay (Sol de America Asuncion), Sweden (Lund), and Ecuador (Leones).
Among many awards she received was the Eurobasket.com All-Bulgarian League Player of the Year award in 2025.
Morillo-Wallen graduated from Oklahoma City University in 2017 and is currently in her ninth season in pro basketball. She also played for Independence Community College for one year.
