Cocodrilos made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Dominican Luis Montero (203-1993, college: South Plains) who scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. Dominican Diego Colon (188-2001) chipped in 16 points. The former international point guard Heissler Guillent (186-1986) produced 18 points and 4 assists and American Tim Bond (201-1995, college: EMU) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Pioneros' coach Daniel Seoane tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help.

Swingman Luis Duarte (190-1994) had a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Colombian-Dominican point guard Jesse Zarzuela (188, college: Oregon) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists during the contest. Five Gaiteros players scored in double figures. American forward Delwan Graham (200-1988, college: Jacksonville, agency: Interperformances) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Myke Henry (198-1992, college: DePaul) scored 12 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.

Spartans were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch.
