There was a surprise result when thirteenth rankedGimnasia (3-3) beat higher ranked Quimsa (4-1) in Comodoro Rivadavia 88-84 on Friday. Gimnasia shot 60.7 percent from the field. American Andre Nation (196-1993, college: JMU) notched 21 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and point guard Martiniano Dato (188-2004) supported him with 19 points. Even 21 points by the former international guard Nicolas Romano (200-1987) did not help to save the game for Quimsa . The former international point guard Juan Brussino (185-1991) added 14 points. Four Gimnasia and five Quimsa players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Gimnasia moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Quimsa dropped to the third position with one game lost. They share it with Obera.
