There was a surprise result in Buenos Aires where tenth rankedObras (4-2) defeated higher ranked Quimsa (5-2) 78-64 on Tuesday. International power forward Tomas Chapero (211-2001) fired 13 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. The former international Marcos Mata (202-1986) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Bahamas center Tavario Miller (203-1994, college: Texas A&M) produced 9 points and 9 rebounds and the former international guard Nicolas Romano (200-1987) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Obras moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Obera. Loser Quimsa dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Riachuelo. Obras will meet Penarol (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Quimsa will play against Olimpico (#7) in La Banda and hope to secure a win.
