There was a surprise result in Mar del Plata where seventeenth rankedPenarol (3-4) won against higher ranked Obras (4-4) 82-71 on Monday. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Al Thornton (203-1983, college: FSU, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and point guard Lucas Andujar (185-1996) who added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 13 assists during the contest. American forward Chris Clarke (196-1996, college: Texas Tech, agency: Interperformances) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and the former international Marcos Mata (202-1986) scored 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Penarol moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Gimnasia. Loser Obras dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Regatas.
