The game had a very big importance for fourth-rankedInstituto as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Instituto smashed much higher ranked Chanares in Cordoba 91-58 . It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Chanares. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Instituto made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Chanares turnovers. Instituto players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Chanares ' players. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Giselle Botta (180-1999) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Lurdes Saez helped adding 17 points. Five Instituto players scored in double figures. At the losing side Marilina Banegas responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized Italian point guard Regina Carosio (165-1986) scored 5 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Union Florida. Newly promoted Chanares dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Obras and Quimsa.
