Regular Season Round 10: Montmartre - Chanares 60-62

The most exciting game of round 10 in the LaLiga Femenina took place in Catamarca. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Montmartre (1-7) to fourth ranked Chanares (4-3) 62-60 on Saturday evening. Chanares dominated down low during the game scoring 38 of its points in the paint compared to Montmartre's 18. Janet Banegas had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 17 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Marilina Banegas chipped in 12 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Chanares' coach Norberto Yanez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side point guard Aldana Duarte (162-1996) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and Maitena Merino scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Chanares moved-up to third place, which they share with Gorriones. Montmartre at the other side keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Chanares is looking forward to face Gorriones (#4) in Rio Cuarto in the next round. Montmartre will play at home against Gorriones and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
