Regular Season Round 23: Gimnasia - Zarate 77-62

There was a minor upset in Comodoro Rivadavia where 17th ranked Zarate (4-12) was defeated by nineteenth ranked Gimnasia CR (3-15) 77-62. It was an exceptional evening for guard Valentino Ayala (190-2005) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 18 rebounds. Guard Jose Copesky (184-2006) accounted for 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Gimnasia CR's coach Gustavo Sapochnik allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Tomas Delia came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and Gino Sciamanna added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for Zarate in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains nineteenth place with 3-15 record. Zarate lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 12 games lost. Gimnasia will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Zarate will play at home against Instituto (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
