Everything went according to plan when ninth rankedInstituto (10-6) edged 13th ranked Gimnasia (8-11) in Comodoro Rivadavia 74-72 on Tuesday. Instituto made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Instituto outrebounded Gimnasia 41-26 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Alex Negrete (192-2001) notched 16 points to lead the effort and Uruguayan-Italian swingman Nicola Pomoli (195-1999) supported him with 10 points and 6 rebounds. Even 13 points and 7 rebounds by American Jalen Jenkins (201-1994, college: GMU, agency: Players Group) did not help to save the game for Gimnasia . His fellow American import Andre Nation (196-1993, college: JMU) added 12 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Instituto moved-up to sixth place. Loser Gimnasia keeps the thirteenth position with 11 games lost.
