Not a big story in a game when 10th rankedPenarol (8-8) lost to second ranked Riachuelo (12-4) in La Rioja 71-83 on Tuesday. American power forward Reginald Buckner (206-1991, college: Ole Miss) notched 17 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international forward Federico Aguerre (203-1988) supported him with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Riachuelo LR players scored in double figures. Even 20 points by the former international guard Luciano Gonzalez (194-1990) did not help to save the game for Penarol . American forward Al Thornton (203-1983, college: FSU, agency: BIG) added 17 points. Penarol's coach Hernan Laginestra tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Riachuelo keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Boca. Loser Penarol keeps the tenth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Ferro and Union.
