There was a minor upset in Santiago del Estero where their close opponentMontmartre (1-3) was outplayed by eighth ranked Independiente (2-3) 90-66 on Sunday. Independiente forced 23 Montmartre turnovers. The best player for the winners was power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-1985) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Tomas Rossi (202-1995) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Independiente players scored in double figures. Nicolas Garcia produced 16 points and 9 rebounds and center Heraldo Russo (202-2000) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Independiente moved-up to fourth place. Montmartre lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with 5 other teams.
