Not a big story in a game when 6th rankedLanus (1-7) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Union Florida (5-2) 72-58 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Carla Miculka (174-1993) who scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. The former international guard Maria Martinez (170-1994) chipped in 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Martina Scian (170-2000) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and guard Berenice Lopez (168-1999) added 17 points respectively for the hosts. Four Lanus players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Union Florida . They moved-up to third place. Loser Lanus dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. Union Florida will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lanus will play against Rocamora (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
