Rather expected game when 5th rankedChanares (3-5) was smashed by second ranked Riachuelo (5-1) in La Rioja 90-55 on Thursday. Riachuelo forced 24 Chanares turnovers and outrebounded them 50-39 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international swingman Agustina Garcia (173-1996) notched 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Ornella Santelli supported her with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Even 13 points and 8 rebounds by Janet Banegas did not help to save the game for Chanares . Maria Introcaso added 9 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Riachuelo have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 5-1 record having 2 victories less than leader Obras. Loser Chanares keeps the fifth place with five games lost.
